Russians killed civilians in Chernihiv, people left without flats

On 17 April, the Russian army fired missiles at the city of Chernihiv, three Iskander ballistic missiles were fired at the civilian population.

One woman says with horror that her sister-in-law was fortunately able to escape with her two children, they went down to the basement. An eyewitness says her children and grandchildren's flat was "blown apart" by the blast.

"My son lives here, I heard the first explosions, I saw smoke on this side. I realised it was somewhere nearby. I started calling my daughter-in-law, she was hysterical because they were in the flat at the time, sleeping with the children. Because of the explosion in her bedroom, the window was broken, she grabbed the child, ran out into another room, where there was a second explosion, they were thrown into the corridor," says a local woman from Chernihiv.

Another local resident mentions that the powerful explosions occurred right after she took the child to the daycare centre and was on her way to work.

"I took the child to the kindergarten, I was on my way to work. I heard a whistle, I thought it was an aeroplane, but it was not an aeroplane. I looked at the sky, I didn't see anything there, I only heard an explosion. I went back to the day care centre, it was fine. And then from work called and said that to us "arrival", - the woman shares her experiences.

According to rescuers, as a result of the attack on Chernihiv in the morning of 17 April, has already killed 17 people, including two died in hospital. 18 April has been declared a day of mourning for the victims.
